The Australasian Investor Relations Association (AIRA), with the support of leading IR advisory firm Market Eye, has launched a Small-Cap Investor Relations & Markets Roundtable series for CEOs and CFOs from companies outside the ASX 100.

The series of roundtables have been developed as a direct response to a growing demand from CEOs and CFOs from smaller companies, many of whom do not have internal investor relations resources, for a forum where they can come together on an informal basis to discuss issues and challenges surrounding capital markets, shareholder engagement and other investor relations-related topics.

“With the increased risks placed on companies for breaches of continuous disclosure at a time of rising shareholder activism, it is critical that companies, irrespective of their market capitalisation, continue to evolve their investor relations practices and improve their relationships and overall engagement with the investment community. These roundtables will provide a unique opportunity for CEOs and CFOs with the responsibility for investor relations to benchmark their practices and learn about new initiatives,” said AIRA CEO Ian Matheson.

Commenting on this new initiative, Ronn Bechler, managing director at Market Eye said: “We are delighted to be able to partner with AIRA to provide a forum for small-cap CEOs and CFOs to learn from each other and ultimately better engage with the investment community. In a crowded market, it is critical for small-cap companies to effectively engage with shareholders and the investment community generally. Done well, substantial value can be created when a company successfully executes its investor relations activities while delivering on its operational plan.”

AIRA will host two Small-Cap Roundtable series throughout 2015. Dates for the inaugural roundtable series are:

Melbourne | 24 March 2015
Sydney | 25 March 2015
Brisbane | 26 March 2015
Perth | TBC

The second series will be held throughout September / October 2015.

This small-cap CEO/CFO roundtable series is a key initiative designed to help those companies outside the ASX 100 in their endeavours to improve their communications with the investment community. Both AIRA and Market Eye are excited by its launch and look forward to helping facilitate better investor relations practices amongst small-cap listed stocks.

End.
