Richard’s experience in fields as diverse as information technology, broadcasting services, public relations, advertising, funds management and Government, provide him with unique perspectives.  From March 1996 to October 2003 Richard was Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts in the Australian Federal Parliament, as well as Deputy Leader of the Government in the Australian Senate.

Since leaving Parliament, Richard was Australian High Commissioner (Ambassador) to the United Kingdom, and has also served as Chairman of three ASX-listed companies and as a Director of several listed public companies in both Australia and the United Kingdom, including as a director of London based public company Chime and a member of the international advisory board of London based CQS, one of the world’s largest hedge funds, and as a director of CQS’ Australian subsidiary and associated hedge fund Nanuk.  For several years he was a consultant to Alcatel-Lucent and Chairman of the advisory board of long/short fund Qato Capital.  He currently serves as Chairman of berry producer Sunny Ridge, and a director of China Telecom Australia, and retirement village operator Balmoral Gardens.  Since 2004 he has been an Adjunct Professor of Information Technology at Bond University.
